With the kids in school, why not volunteer at the Thrift Shop to price merchandise during a 10 am to 2 or 3 pm shift. If interested please visit or call the shop, 301-654-0063 or 301-300-0945, for more information. If a manager is not available to talk, leave your name and contact information to receive a callback.
Thrift shop volunteers get discounts on personal purchases and have the satisfaction of knowing that all proceeds go to local charities.
The Montgomery County Thrift shop is a charitable non-profit organization that sells affordable used and vintage clothing, jewelry, books, CDs, and household goods. Volunteers provide nearly all staffing, and profits go to five non-profit charities providing direct services to Montgomery County residents.
We have a thrift section--with clothing, books, home items, and electronics--and two specialty rooms with higher-end home decor items, antiques, small furniture, and jewelry. Everything we sell has been generously donated to us.
