Thrift Shop Closed Permanently
The Montgomery County Thrift Shop Board regrets to announce the shop's permanent closure as of June 8, 2020. Conditions arising from the Corona virus epidemic have made it impossible for the shop to continue operations.
The shop served the community for more than 76 years and the Board thanks the shop's many loyal customers, volunteers, and donors.
The Montgomery County Thrift shop was a charitable non-profit organization that sold affordable used and vintage clothing, jewelry, books, CDs, and household goods. Volunteers provided nearly all staffing, and profits went to five non-profit charities providing direct services to Montgomery County residents. The charities continue to welcome your support.
The shop had a thrift section--with clothing, books, home items, and electronics--and two specialty rooms with higher-end home decor items, antiques, small furniture, and jewelry. Everything sold was generously donated to the store.
